I finally got around to completing my makeup vanity project, and if you follow me on Instagram you know I’ve talked about it incessantly! This DIY project was way more fun than I had anticipated! A lot of my inspirations were drawn from the classic Parisian architecture and decor, and I really think when it comes to interior designs, the French have a certain je ne sais quoi.
For this vanity, I wanted it to feel inviting, cozy, and pretty— so, I incorporated a lot of gold tones, flowers, ornate decors, vintage boxes, etc. In addition, I wanted to make sure things were put on display and easily accessible. While the vanity is pretty, it should also be functional. Therefore, organization is a key element. So, let’s get to it! Here are the 8 chic ways to decorate your vanity like a Parisian.
1. Perfume Trays
You know those pretty perfume bottles you have? A perfume tray is a great way to organize and showcase them. Not only is it the perfect decoration for your vanity, it allows you to quickly see what you have so you could pick out that fragrance of the day!

2. Clear Glass Boxes & Dishes
Clear vintage boxes and dishes are a so charming and they are a great alternative to traditional wooden jewelry boxes. I use them to store things like bangles, rings, and earrings. P.s The jewelry sitting in these glass boxes seems to have so much more character!
3. Vanity Trays
To keep things from looking clutter on the vanity, try using a tray to separate products from each other. This will make your space look more tidy and organized.
4. Fresh Flowers
To brighten up the vanity, add fresh flowers. They are a great way to add a touch of feminity and freshness as you’re beautifying yourself.
For that big statement piece, consider a decorative mirror. I went with this antique looking mirror from Anthropologie. It draws so much attention but also very understated. I love how vintage it feels with the age like oxidation and scratches— it definitely has that Parisian vibe I was going for!
6. Makeup Organizers
To declutter your space, try using makeup organizers. I use them to store makeup, nail polishes, brushes, lotions, etc. It’s such a great way to keep things tidy and in plain sight for when you are trying to find something quick.

7. Ornate Tabletop Mirrors
To add a touch of glamour to the vanity, I went for this ornate gold tabletop mirror. I love how dramatic it looks and it reminds me of the Victorian era!

8. Plush Velvet Chairs
Last but not least, I incorporated velvet for that added elegance and luxuriousness. I went with a pink chair as it really complements all the gold tone decor on the vanity. Together, they add a lot of warmth and chicness!
This project was so much fun! I thoroughly enjoyed the entire process of picking out the furniture and decor to putting everything together. So happy now that I have this little cute corner to myself. I hope you were able to get some inspirations from this post! Are you guys going to create one or do you already have one?
