When it comes to makeup I am a minimalist. I don’t always have time in the morning because I’m either rushing to work or running errands. I need makeup that is easy to apply, minimal, yet still give me that healthy glow. For an everyday makeup look, beauty products like tinted moisturizers, concealers, eyeliners, mascaras, lipsticks are some of the items I always have in my makeup bag.
TINTED MOISTURIZERS
I like to keep my face lightweight and breathable, that’s why I try to stay away from heavy makeup. For everyday use, tinted moisturizers are great to even out your complexion and keep your face looking fresh and radiant. If you have problem areas where you need a little more coverage, instead of putting on thick layers of foundation- use tinted moisturizers and add concealer after. This helps blur out your blemishes and sunspots without looking cakey.

Some of my favorite tinted moisturizers are by Laura Mercier. I’ve tried a number of different tinted moisturizers in the past but nothing works quite as great as these. This comes in both oil and oil-free versions. I’ve used both before and they are equally good.

I typically apply the tinted moisturizer with a beauty blender, but when I’m short on time- I just use my fingers and lightly dab the product on the areas I’m most concerned about, which are my cheeks and chin where I have the most sunspots and scars. This process takes me less than a couple of minutes and my face instantly looks better.
CONCEALERS
Ahh concealers- how was life possible without them! My favorite concealer is Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage. It comes in a compact that has two different shades, one is a shade lighter than your skin tone and one is a shade darker. This gives you the flexibility of mixing the two colors together to get the perfect match for your skin.

The key to this step is in HOW you apply the concealer. To really get the natural barely-there makeup look try using a concealer brush. Gently mix the two shades together with a brush, then tap it gently on the spots you want to cover. Add more concealer as needed until the dark spots become invisible. This method works great because you’re only applying concealer where desired, therefore avoiding making our entire face look cakey.
EYELINERS & MASCARAS
Eyeshadows have always been the death of me, it requires skills and time which I just don’t have sometimes. This is where eyeliners & mascaras come in handy. If you have days where you’re lacking sleepy, looking tired, or just a bit hungover from a few extra glasses of wine from the night before, adding eyeliners & mascaras make a big difference in brightening up your eyes and defining them.
I typically line my upper eyelids with a liquid eyeliner to get the cat-eye effect. If you are not into liquid eyeliners, a regular one will do the job. When using a regular eyeliner, I usually line and then smudge it to add a little more depth and dimension to my eyes. As for mascaras, since I have short and straight lashes, I need to curl them before applying mascara. My two favorite eyelash curlers are cult favorites, Sheishedo and Shu Uemura!
Here I have curated a list of the best selling eyeliners and mascaras ( *I don’t believe in spending a ton on mascaras as the drugstore ones are excellent choices).

BLUSHES & BRONZERS
Bronzers are great if you’re looking to add some warmth and depth to your face. My go-to bronzer is Laguna by Nars. This bronzer has the slightest touch of shimmer and is the perfect shade of tan. It gives you that sun-kissed glow without looking too orangey or muddy. Laguna is a cult favorite for a reason, this shade looks good on everyone!
Application tip: to get that natural sun-kissed look, use a big fluffy brush to avoid getting any harsh lines. With the lightest hand, dust some on the hollow of your cheeks, around the hairline, and the tip of your chin. Keep in mind, with bronzers, a little goes a long way. Don’t overdo it, or it will look really unnatural.
After applying bronzer, I like to add a little pop of color to my cheeks. The two most versatile colors are pink and coral. Using a blush brush, apply the blush on the apples of your cheeks to get that fresh youthful look. Here are some of the most popular ones:
