Ugh! I don’t know about you guys but I hate the cold weather, especially what it’s doing to my skin— can’t deal with all the dry patches and dullness on my face. They got to go! Not to mention, I just turned 36 and my skin is starting to show signs of again. I’m still faithfully doing my Korean Skincare Routine, but cold months like these call for something extra. That’s where Rosehip Oil and Vitamin C come in, the must-have products your skin needs this winter and possibly forever.
ROSEHIP OIL
Rosehip Oil has been around since ancient times and a lot of people swear by it, and quite honestly, I’m not sure why it has taken me so long to try this out. This oil is so good for your skin! I tend to stay away from products that have the word “oil” in them since I have combination skin, but hear me out, Rosehip Oil is a different story. It’s actually considered a “dry” oil because it absorbs quickly into the skin and its lightweight texture does not clog up pores.
THE BENEFITS OF ROSEHIP OIL
Rosehip oil is derived from the seeds of a type of rose called Rosa canina, which is mostly grown in Chile. Rosehip oil is known to offer several benefits to the skin including fighting acne, evening skin tone, and firming the skin. The cold-pressed rosehip oil that comes from the hips and seeds of the rose flower is loaded with linoleic acid and vitamin A, two powerful acne fighters.

The vitamins A and C in the Rosehip oil also stimulate collagen production and offer anti-aging benefits. Not only do they help reduce wrinkles and fine lines, but the oil also has skin-rejuvenating properties.
Now that we got the facts out of the way, let’s talk about how Rosehip oil also gives you that healthy glow! I use 2-3 drops of The Ordinary 100% organic cold-pressed Rosehip oil in the morning after toner and serums, and it instantly moisturizes and gives my skin a nice glow, especially under makeup. You know that glowy no-makeup makeup look that everyone’s after? Yes, that’s the glow I’m talking about— seriously cannot live without this stuff!
VITAMIN C SERUM
The other majorly important product that I’ve added to my skincare regimen is Vitamin C serum. We all know the benefits of Vitamin C and how it helps boost your immune system, but what about Vitamin C as a serum?
Topical vitamin C is great for protecting your skin from damage—especially from the sun’s UVA and UVB rays. That’s because vitamin C is an antioxidant, so it naturally helps to strengthen your skin and repel things that could damage it. Vitamin C also helps fade and prevents sun, age, and acne spots.
One of my other skin concerns is improving my skin’s elasticity. With age, collagen production begins to slow down. Vitamin C serums can stimulate collagen production. The added collagen really helps reduce and prevent wrinkles and diffuses the look of fine lines. Uhm, yes, please! I use a few drops of COSRX Triple C Lightning Liquid morning and night, after toning. I am loving what it’s doing to my skin. The difference is visible because my skin looks more even toned and much brighter.
There you have it, the must-have products my skin is loving this winter. What skincare products do you swear by? Drop a comment below as I’d love to hear about it!
