Not many of you know this but I recently built my home, and one of the items on my list was to have one of those pretty walk-in closets that you see in those home and style magazines. I’ve always dreamed of having a closet where I could display things like bags, shoes, sunglasses- you know, your typical girly things. Luckily, I have a super handy husband who helped make it possible. Believe it or not, we got this closet from Home Depot! And what’s crazy is— it looks custom made! This closet system is really well-built and it looks incredibly fancy. Not to mention, the price point is very reasonable. My friends were all shocked when I told them where I got it from. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Anyway, let’s jump right into it, here’s my little walk-in closet tour!
THE DISPLAY
The walk-in closet is located in the master bedroom. Though it is not quite big enough to store all of my clothes, it is the perfect size for all of my favorite things. P.S I use the empty guest room to store the rest of my clothes, I call it my “messy closet”. Please don’t judge.

We all know what makes closets look unorganized and cluttered— it’s the combination of overstuffed racks and the countless piles of clothes scattered throughout the room. To avoid this, I made sure the closet system allows for enough shelves and racks so that my things aren’t so squished together.

I use the racks for tops, dresses, jackets, and coats. I separate them by section so it’s more organized and visibly appealing. Underneath these racks, I utilize the shelf space for my jeans. Not sure if you guys can relate but when your clothes are in piles, you forget what you have, and you end up buying the same thing twice! My husband always complains that I have way too many clothes, but to be fair, I just forget what I have sometimes. Anyway, the moral of the story is, just go shopping without your SO.

For my shoes, I wanted them to be front and center, so I placed them in the middle section on one of the walls, surrounded by a few bags. On the other wall is the rest of my bags. I like to display them separately unless they are smaller, then I place them together. The smaller drawers are used for scarves and sunglasses. This is super convenient for when I’m in a rush and need to grab something and go.

There’s no unused space in this little room. On the top shelf is where I put big boxes and other storage items. And last but not least, this cute little bench I found at Home Goods, it fits perfectly in the room!
